Brief Description of Research Interest:

My research is focused on the study of the molecular mechanisms implicated in the development and spreading of pathological proteins (such as tau and α-synuclein) involved in the neurodegenerative process of Alzheimer´s and Parkinson´s diseases, respectively. In the next few years, I would like to start my independent scientific career in studying the effects of genetic variants in disease-associated risk genes such as ApoE, on the development and progression of α-synuclein and tau pathologies, as well as the mechanisms involved in the ApoE- increased risk/protection against clinical dementia development.
